Job Description:

e-BizSoft (Pvt.) Ltd.  is looking for experienced Infrastructure Engineer to manage its hosting and network infrastructure operations.

The ideal candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (computer engineering, electronics, etc.) with at least 10 years of experience. She/he should have moderate-to-strong English language communication skills and be able to easily converse with a variety of people inside and outside of the company (international clients and vendors). Normal working hours will be 12PM to 9PM Pakistan time.  The position would be on call 24x7 to respond to any needs should they arise. 

The position’s responsibilities would include: 

1.       Managing the company’s Cloud, network and communications infrastructure on a day-to-day basis including coordination between its offices in the USA, Karachi and Lahore and with its clients.

2.       Working with the management team to execute the company’s operational & strategic plans.

3.       Managing team members and coordinating with other internal groups, as well as vendors and clients, both domestic and international.

4.       Specific day-to-day functions will include:

a.       ROUTER AND NETWORK MANAGEMENT including creating rules, managing network security, backups, patches and performance monitoring including capacity and bandwidth, and site-to-site and client VPN management; 

b.      COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT including doing log management, topology creation/backup, SIP/VoIP troubleshooting and physical “Skype for Business” telephones’ configuration; mailbox management, log shipping, mail quota and backup management;

c.       SERVER MANAGEMENT including monitoring performance and resources, system services, building new servers, installing patches, software applications and services; Should be able to schedule maintenance on systems if needed.

d.      VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT management including creating and deploying new VMs, managing host resources and performance, disk space and backups;

e.      DATA MANAGEMENT including taking archives and backups, managing jobs/scripts, and resolving any data integrity issues;

f.        SECURITY MANAGEMENT including managing roles, user access (AD, routers, servers, etc.), anti-viruses, software licensing controls, securing of network access points and deploying SSL certificates for websites/portals, and firewall management (content filtering, PAT, NAT, etc.);

g.       CYBERSECURITY MANAGEMENT including securing the infrastructure against cyber-attacks including but not limited to threat detection and prevention, intrusion prevention, malware attacks, hacking and other contemporary cyber-threats that the network needs to be protected from;

h.      DISASTER RECOVERY including planning for DR in the event of damage, disabling or any assets being compromised. Must be able to plan, execute and monitor a DR strategy and operations, including all aspects;

i.         INVENTORY AND ASSET MANAGEMENT including issuance of equipment, inventory maintenance, asset tagging, logging and tracking, setting up and securing shared resources (shared directories, FTP folders, etc.);

j.        LICENSE MANAGEMENT including managing software assets issuance and licensing under Microsoft Volume Licensing, Microsoft SPLA, Microsoft Developer Network and other software vendor licensing programs.

k.       DEMONSTRATION SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT including setting up new environments (normally VMs) for various groups (QA, business development), ensuring connectivity and access, performance, maintaining the pool (decommissioning unused systems, upgrading or downgrading system resources, etc.);

l.         CLOUD SERVICES & HOSTING MANAGEMENT including implementing new hosted environments and requisite services (replication, failover, backups), managing data center services (remotely) such as maintenance downtime, outages and network issues.

m.    DEVICE MANAGEMENT including managing various devices such as smartphones and laptops to securely integrate them with the overall company infrastructure (Windows or Android).  

5.       Work with other company teams to plan and coordinate short, medium and long term goals. 

Specific skills include a general knowledge and working experience of routers, firewalls, VOIP gateways, domain management, virtual private networks, Cloud/SaaS and other networking technologies, and experience with primarily Microsoft environments and technologies is essential (including on premise and Microsoft Azure). Must have a strong background in clusters, virtual storage, and providing a hosted environment that is robust and immune to down time. Experience and knowledge of Cisco Meraki, SonicWALL, Microsoft SPLA, and Linux will be a plus.  Must be intimate with Windows Server and have a decent knowledge of Linux. Knowledge of cyber-security and disaster recovery strategies and planning will be a must.
