Position

You will work as part of a team of Canadian and Pakistani developers. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for managing the infrastructure and supporting the development team. Your goal is to effectively utilize infrastructure resources to reduce cost and keep things stable. Also you need to identify technical problems in current processes and provide a plan to improve them. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is willing to collaborate with members of the team. This is a remote position, candidates from Lahore are preferred but suitable candidates from other areas may be considered.

Depending on the suitability of the candidate, the position can be filled as a part-time or a full-time position. It is a remote job and timing is flexible.

Responsibilities

• Work with developer, creatives and project stakeholders to complete project requirements


• Make deployments easy, safe and less risky


• Effectively utilize infrastructure resources to reduce cost and keep things stable at the same time.


• Identify technical problems in current processes and provide a plan to improve them


• Collaborate with developers to set up staging environments and improve it to make it more usable for testing.


• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats


• Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes


• Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelors in Computer Science or relevant field


• Experience as a DevOps Engineer 


• Understanding and working experience of Python, Django, Nginx, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery


• Expertise in Linux


• Proficient with git and git workflows


• Can handle scalability issues


• Experience with Digital ocean and AWS will be a plus


• Familiarity and desire to adapt modern tools like Chef, Puppet will be considered a plus


• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes can be a plus
